EDMOND, OK – CP Energy, a privately-owned midstream energy company, today announced that Greg Piper will be leading the company as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). A seasoned energy industry veteran, Piper brings more than 25 years of leadership, operational and business development experience to the company. He will join CP Energy after serving as CEO of Gavilon Energy, a private midstream energy company with operations in the Bakken, Permian, Eagleford and Midcontinent regions, where he led the energy group’s spin off from Gavilon Corporation and then led the sale of Gavilon Energy to NGL Energy Partners.
CP Energy was acquired in January 2014 by Texoma Transportation & Crude Marketing, LLC, with private equity firms Crestview Partners and B-29 Investments acquiring a majority stake in the combined company. The new company operates as CP Energy.
“I am proud to say I work for the company that Bob Passmore and Jim Crossen built from 1997 to today,” said Piper. “CP Energy is a significant crude oil purchasing, marketing and logistics player in the Midcontinent region with enormous potential. We will continue to operate by building strong relationships, offering exceptional customer service and expanding our transportation and asset capabilities to the benefit of our customers.”
In addition to being CEO of Gavilon Energy, Piper served as Gavilon Corporation’s senior vice president of business development and, prior to that, held senior positions at Acon Investments, Prisma Energy International, Chroma Oil & Gas, Mariner Energy and Enron Corp.
